Pentacost ~ This and only this, will restore the power of God to
the Church of Jesus Christ. It turned ordinary people into extraordinary people who then went and turned the world upside down with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of God..

The Book of Acts
On the day of Pentacost, the Promise of the Father was poured out upon the Disciples and they were baptised with the Holy Spirit.. and they all began to speak in tongues. It changed fishermen and tax collectors into men and women on fire for God and not in word only but with the power of God.
Jesus commanded His disciples not to depart from Jerusalem until they been "endued with power from on High" Even the Lord Jesus did nothing until He was baptised with the Spirit. From that moment, the Bible says "He began.." and what a ministry! He healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out devils. Then after He was raised from the dead, He told his disciples to go and do the same.. with the same power and authority that he had.
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 ¶ When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
As a result of this, Peter stood up and preached to the multitude that was in Jerusalem and told them to "repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" and 3000 thousand people got saved!
Philip was preaching Jesus in Samaria with signs, wonders and miracles.. and "when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus, they were baptised, both men and women" BUT "When the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of god, they sent to them Peter and John, who when they came down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit (for as yet He was fallen upon none of them, only they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus) Then laid their hands upon them and they received the Holy Spirit" Philip had got them saved and now Peter and John were sent to get them filled with the Holy Spirit.
Another recorded instance in found in Acts 19..
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Such was the importance of this gift, it was the first thing Paul talked to them about!
We also find a similar event in the Tenth chapter of Acts. Peter is sent to the Cornelious household to tell them about Christ. He was just a few minutes into his sermon when suddenly..
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the Word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
People that say that tongues is of the devil, either don't read their Bible or don't believe their Bible. In my Bible it says "and there came a sound from HEAVEN as a rushing mighty wind... and they were ALL filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues as the SPIRIT gave them utterance"
No wonder the Apostle Paul said "I thank my God I speak in tongues more than you all!' and again he said, "I would that you ALL spoke in tongues!' 1 Cor 14
